You do realize that both Israelis and Palestinians are barred from entering Palestinian Territories? Palestinians get access because it’s their home. Israelis are not permitted there in any case.

The reason for this exclusion is that Israelis could get killed if they cross into Palestinian territory. Palestinians without violent intent are never in such danger within Israel.

An Israeli who want to visit the archeological remains of Judaea in the West Bank must get there with an army escort because they could be attacked.

The checks you have experienced are not less important than the TSA’s invasive checks and nobody complains about those because they potentially save lives.
