The Two Biggest Improvements Needed In Ulysses

During the last few weeks, I’ve been using Ulysses to write my blog posts and pieces for #Ship30For30. It’s an excellent editor that allows you to use a markup language, and as a user of Ghost and Medium, that is working for me. But, there are still improvements to make. Here are the two biggest ones, in my opinion.

Ulysses Should Support Right To Left Languages

As a native Hebrew speaker, this improvement would have allowed me to focus all of my blogging work on one convenient editor — both in Hebrew and English. Markup Language isn’t just for English — it works with both RTL and LTR languages.

I’m sure, like me, there are many writers out there that need this but fall back to using google docs or their phone’s native notes app. Those are still good options, but not as great as Ulysses with its integrations and exports.

Ulysses Should Be Available Outside of Apple’s Ecosystem

Currently, Ulysses is only available on Apple devices. And that’s where I have it. But, my main computer at home is a Windows-based PC. And that means whenever I want to write, I need to take out the MacBook or write on my phone.

I would have also settled on a web client instead of a native windows app. Let me write on the web; just don’t put more steps between me and my writing when my Apple devices are away.
