The Flexibility and Curiosity a Content Creator Needs to Succeed
Ever since I first started writing online, I have always been curious about the craft and making money online.
At first, I dabbled in affiliate marketing, and then I was invited to a pyramid scheme. I didn’t know what it was at the time, so I joined.
The deal was this: You buy packs of books, and there are packages: $49, $97, $197, $297, etc.
Then, you also need to market those books to people you refer, and you get a cut from any sale they make, too.
Aside from looking shady from the beginning, as I got older, I realized these books were PLR books that you can buy in a $19/month subscription in just one of many websites that offer them.
This guy was making a website with training videos, and in the end, it was already available for less than half of the cheapest package. And people like me fell for it. I never paid more than the sum of the most inexpensive package, but that’s still money that I could have used elsewhere.
The point is, I’m grateful for the experience. Other people could reinforce their mistrust of others following such an event, but I choose to believe that curiosity coupled with common sense can still open many doors for you. I didn’t have the common sense I have today, back in 2010, but we live and learn.
Keep trying new things, keep flexing those content creation muscles. Maybe today, you’re writing blog posts. Perhaps tomorrow, you’ll create TikTok videos. Keep your ideas fluid and watch as you produce your best work yet.
