Break a Customer’s Trust Once — Lose Them Forever

How I stopped following a writer I looked up to on Medium.

A few months into my introduction to Medium, I started following a writer on Medium with many followers. They had already established themself as one of the more popular writers on the platform by the time I joined.

As time went by, I started having more personal conversations with them, and I even participated in their book launch as an affiliate.

And then, one day, I published a vulnerable tweet on Twitter about money — which is a touchy subject for me — and instead of support, they retweeted that tweet with a mocking comment.

My relationship with them hasn’t been the same since that incident.
