Fifteen years ago, when I was eighteen years old, I founded several forums on the internet. Back then, a forum was as vibrant a community as today’s Facebook group and Discord channels.

I didn’t know why I wanted to do it. Maybe it was the innate sense of community and belonging that burns within any human being? Perhaps I wanted to feel what it was like to surround yourself with a community that you build in your own two hands? Whatever it was — it wasn’t about making money online back then.

I was passionate about creating a forum about StarCraft, the game I used to play all the time as a teen. I wanted to share hand-made campaigns, story theories about Kerrigan — The Queen of Blades — and much more. I wanted to be heard — something I believe you can relate to. …

The trilogy that affected millions of people over so many years is coming back refreshed. Should you grab it?

Last Saturday, on N7 Day (Nov. 7th), Bioware announced that Mass Effect: Legendary — a remaster of the original trilogy with all DLC — is coming soon in Spring 2021. Which probably means a March release.

In this essay, I will explore my feelings about Mass Effect and present my reasons for why I am, ultimately, going to grab Legendary when it comes out.

The first Mass Effect game I played was Mass Effect 2. …

Does the platform matter as much as the content? (Spoiler: It doesn’t)

Where should you publish your stories, blog posts, or perhaps just ideas you want to share with the world?

Many people’s first answer to this question would be — Social Media. And they would be right — with a caveat.

Publishing a picture from an event on Facebook is like flushing down the toilet. You will never see or hear about this water and its contents ever again. Of course, there is always a chance of flooding. But it’s rare.

Don’t think about the platform. The platform is only a means to direct the packaging of your content. Instead, think about the value of what you’re about to publish. …

I have lots on my mind lately, and finding the right words is tough.

So, instead of forcing myself to write and rewrite to infinity, I decided to find a picture.

Like this one, for example, when I want peace:

Or this one when I’m feeling particularly productive:

Or perhaps this one when I need human interaction:

Sometimes you need to let go. A picture is worth a thousand words, and you only need to express yourself. It doesn’t have to be a long essay; it just has to make you feel good.

Thanks for reading!

Content Creation Series

There are never quick solutions.

Four years ago, I missed an incredible opportunity. I created a Facebook page about my fantasy world and started publishing draft chapters from my story. I didn’t know where it would lead, what would be the outcome, and whether it would help me pay off my debt. The chapters I published felt lacking, I had one engaged fan who wanted to read more and about 600 passive fans to the page. Yet, all I needed to do was persevere — but I didn’t.

I missed the opportunity to make my fantasy world something more serious since I lacked consistency. But that wasn’t the only thing I was missing. …

4. Teach Others to Walk The Same Path

At the beginning of 2019, I was lost. Trying not to drown in a heap of debt. You see, for most of my adult life, I did not receive financial education. At age 16 when I got my first credit card, I didn’t really think about paying off what I put on it.
I know it sounds crazy but sometimes you have a very naive and ignorant view of money when you don’t know how it works.

Years later, when I already realized I’m in trouble, I told myself that everything would be alright when I finished my Computer Science degree and started working for hi-tech salaries. Boy was I wrong. I tried writing in Medium’s Partner Program for a while to make some side-hustle money until I realized I’m sacrificing my creativity for the sake of survival. …

Ruminations for my 33rd birthday at my parents’ house.

I haven’t written anything meaningful for two weeks. You see, I’ve been taking a break all of this time — waiting for now.

As I start writing these words, it is 00:25. The official date in Israel now is Sep. 7th. 2020.

My 33rd birthday.

Please accept my thanks in advance if you decide to bless me with a happy birthday. I will not be responding to those messages.

You see, this year I’m on a mission. I want to gain a sense of freedom. Perhaps, more than that, I want to gain a measure of control over my life.

This desire isn’t some new year or birthday resolution. Those “wishes” never work because we tie them to the date or the mood. …

When writing becomes a chore, it’s time to let go.

Earlier this week, I had a “waking-up” moment. I was sitting down to write and suddenly my mind decided to sort of “blink.”

I realized right then and there that I’m sitting down to write in a dirty room, clothes on the floor right near the door, messy table, and undusted shelves.

But my surroundings weren’t the only thing that I noticed. I was after a long day of work from home, didn’t take a shower, didn’t shave in a few days.

I and my environment was a complete mess.

I was so focused on my productivity and work that for a long time I neglected my mind, my environment, and my body. …
