3 Things That Will Make You a Likeable Streamer
Some time ago, I discovered my love of streaming online. It’s pretty great to host a space for people to come together as a community. And you’re enabling that by streaming on social media. I choose to stream on YouTube. Where do you stream?
Wherever it is, there are three things you can do today to make yourself a more likable streamer in the eyes of your audience. Let’s go!
Invest Time in Your Audience
People want a human connection with you. If you’re only streaming without ever reacting to the chat or engaging with the chat, then you’re not really building a community.
React to people’s comments, ask them questions, and treat them like people! Even when you’re streaming to nobody, make sure to still act as if you’re streaming to someone. You never know who’s watching the VOD!
Use Polls and Ask For Comments
One thing I noticed popular streamers do is involve the chat in pivotal moments in the game. For example, if you’re playing an RPG and there’s a choice, you could gauge the audience’s reaction by posting a poll.
Or, you could ask a question and give people a choice like “comment 1 for….”
