It’s so tempting to be everywhere on social media when you’re just starting. But, burnout is a real thing, and you should avoid trying to be on all platforms when your time, schedule, and energy could only handle so much.

Here’s where you should start, in my opinion.

Twitter

Twitter works very well for content creators. Whether you’re writing threads or sharing pictures and videos, native content that brings value to people will go a long way.

Don’t just share your blog post links, though. Create native content that people can easily digest and share with their friends consistently. Then, interact with the followers of people who create content related to what you make. Help them, answer their questions, or engage in conversation. Don’t try to convince anyone of anything — just engage. It’s called Social Media for a reason.

Medium

Although Medium writers are regularly experiencing drama, the platform is still objectively a powerhouse for your writing. Especially in the following mindset: You mainly publish elsewhere (like your personal blog), but you syndicate content to Medium with a Canonical URL. That will make sure Google doesn’t penalize you for duplicate content.
