3 Mistakes I Made When I Started My Blog
Starting a blog is exciting. Along the way, you may find yourself chasing glory or standing in place. For me, it was a mix of mistakes from over ten years of writing online. Here are three mistakes you can fix today.
I Didn’t Collect Emails
If you want to stay in touch with the people who read your stuff, you need to give them a way to contact you. I didn’t do that for many of the failed blogs in my journey. Many of them could have fared better if I had collected emails and let people know when I published new posts.
Don’t make the same mistake! Collect emails by giving something for free! Like a checklist or an e-book related to the content you publish.
I Didn’t Write Consistently
Consistency is the special ingredient that makes your dish a lot better. When you don’t write consistently, people don’t know what to expect from your blog.
Make it clear as day when your next post is coming. That way, you help them develop a routine. You can use scheduling to make this happen.
I Didn’t Make Goals I Can Measure
Imagine the hubris someone needs to set a goal for X subscribers.
